Glendower Capital was established in 2017 as an independent secondary private equity firm after its partners spun out from Deutsche Asset Management the secondary business which they founded in 2006 and built over the years. Glendower today manages ca. $5.7bn, including three legacy secondary funds totaling $3.0bn in aggregate commitments and its first independent fund, SOF IV, which held its final closing at $2.7bn in aggregate commitments. Prior to raising these vehicles, members of the team worked together from 2003 to 2006 to restructure and wind down Deutsche Bank’s $6.0bn proprietary balance sheet private equity portfolio. The team today consists of over 40 professionals located in London and New York. Across the SOF funds, we have invested in excess of 700 fund interests across more than 120 transactions over the past 10 years.
